Who is responsible for travel accommodations?
Hi @tammyd-39 , Welcome to the group.
Could you please explain what you mean by travel accommodations?
All of our sitters made their own travel arrangements at their own expense. Those sitters who stayed in hotels before or after the sit paid their own hotel bills. On occasion, we’ve been asked by sitters if they can stay an extra day or 2 or arrive early and we’ve been happy to accommodate them.
Hope that helps.
It’s a sitters choice to travel somewhere to stay for the agreed sit dates so any sitter costs outside of the agreed sit dates are up to the sitter to pay, that includes any travel costs or hotel costs. However, once the sitter arrives at the agreed time they stay in the property for free in exchange for their time, love of the pets, and care of the property.
If a home host wanted us to arrive very early in the morning and could not accommodate our stay the previous night in their home then we would expect the home host to pay for us to stay in a hotel the night before the official start of the sit
Welcome @tammyd-39
On Trusted House Sitters (THS) . There is an annual membership fee which is paid to THS.
After signing up , it’s a mutual exchange with no money is paid to either sitter or host.
The sitter gets free accommodation in exchange for taking care of the pets and home.
The host doesn’t pay for the pet care , in exchange they offer their home to the sitter.
Sitters pay their own travel expenses and food .
I hope that answers your question ?
@tammyd-39, welcome to the THS Forum.
During the period of the housesit then the Pet Parent provides accommodation to the housesitter at no charge, and the housesitter provides services at no charge.
Travel costs, and other costs outside of the housesit period, of the housesitter and pet parent are covered by themselves.
