Another newbie question- when and how is the Welcome Guide accessed by the sitter?? Is it after both the HO and sitter have confirmed? How is it accessed? Thanks!
Hi there,
Yes, hosts can only share the welcome guide after confirming a sitter (meaning a sitter has accepted the host’s invite to sit). Not sure if you’re a sitter or a host - if you’re a sitter, sit tight and wait for your host to share the welcome guide with you. If it hasn’t been shared yet and the sit dates are coming up soon, make sure you remind them. You’ll receive a notification once its been shared and will be able to access it.
If you’re an owner, here’s how to complete and share your welcome guide:
The Welcome Guide is not shared automatically. If you’re a sitter, you can request it via your dashboard as soon as the sit is confirmed. It will not be available to view after the sit has ended.
Be aware that not every HO completes or issues a WG via THS, some prefer to send their own document by email and some try not to issue anything at all. I’d recommend that sitters do insist on seeing some form of welcome guide before commencement of the sit, as sometimes some extra responsibilities or details are sneaked in there which are not mentioned in the listing, and these can be deal breakers.
I only just learned that sitters can’t print out the Welcome Guide. It can be useful to have a hard copy in the house so you might print it out yourself.
It’s easy enough to screenshot it, and you can subsequently print that if you feel it’s necessary.
Thanks so much, the “How to” very helpful!
I always screen shot all emergency contacts and vet info in case we are on a walk and something happens we can access info quickly.
