Grateful that our vet says our dog is no longer showing a heart murmur. 
He’s middle aged, but still going strong.
I really don’t think there’s anything so logical behind the forecasters’ gloomy predications of “bad” weather - i.e Rain - here in the southern UK. It’s just the decades-old knee-jerk assumption: Sunshine = GOOD and Rain = BAD.
If this last summer of unprecedented drought, with everything that brings, like wildfires and rising food prices… Hasn’t changed that mindset, we’re going into the climate crisis even more wilfully blind than I thought.
Thinking is slow to change among many folks, unfortunately.
Travelled 6 hours yesterday by car to find a home in a remote village near the coast at Javea. Boiling hot and very tiring.. no welcome guide ( they aren’t members of THS) and I’d been recommended by a friend here so it was a big jump. 5 rescues : 2 dogs and 3 cats ( only one with tail intact!) cats are free range and the dogs are home loving with two walks a day in quiet streets.

In the area for two months with two THS sits interwoven amongst the rest. I love meeting new like minded people who are open and welcoming.

I read about folks having tomato gluts before, who sun dried and then pulverized them. Apparently, the powder can be added to various soups, stews and such, making them tastier.

Over recent years, we’ve adopted - and met like-minded pet parents - that have evolved their perspective of travel duration from a few days vacation/holiday; to a few weeks trip; to multiple months living. No longer a vacation then a longer experience becomes everyday living in an international environment with local culture. Love it.
We’ve not heard of Javea so had to look on a map. Right on! The size/environment of community per photo reminds us of an extended housesit that we completed last year on Crete, Greece.

This photo brought me much joy today. It was taken in a rescue centre for dogs. The chosen dog has the new owner by the hand and leads him to a second, older, dog that is his pal and he wants them adopted together. Smart dog! Hope it worked!
( I wonder if my wife would accept this if I brought two dogs home unexpectedly !)
