thanks @Joanne
I have watched Outlander but not sure I recognise that castle
I am watching Will Trent on ABC. One of the scenes in the first episode was filmed at the shelter were I volunteer and he has a very sweet relationship with his pup that he rescued, somewhat reluctantly. Will Trent (ABC) Trailer HD - YouTube
Mostly exterior shots @cat.tails because although the inside is very well preserved, there was the potential to damage some parts of the castle, if all the equipment was brought in to film. They built the kitchen set to replicate some inside filming. Apparently Monty Python and Game of Thrones filmed there as well.
I watched this BBC drama series (5 episodes)
And “Monty Python and the Holy Grail”!
Just finished the ‘Final Table’ cooking show. Where chefs cook different countries’ top dishes in front of one of that particular country’s top chefs.
Also Physical 100 - A Korean fitness show where top athletes compete in different games to win.
That has been my snow days Netflix watching!
Just discovered this series - I enjoy any TV series by Rick Stein and this one is great too!
@cat.tails his voice is very soothing and I enjoy his shows too!
@cat.tails I love this series, and we love all of his restaurants in Padstow.
A photo I took whilst having cocktails and oysters in his St Pedroc’s Bistro
Photos from our visit to Rick Stein’s Seafood Restaurant.
A yummy breakfast we had whilst staying at one of Rick Stein’s Accommodations.
A couple of photos I took whilst in Padstow… definitely one of our favourite places in Cornwall!
@Samox24
your photos are mouth-watering good! the food looks so yummy
@Crookie me too, I watched The Gold and really enjoyed it

btw any fans of Endeavour out there? The final series starts tonight in the UK on ITV. I’ll be watching!
@cat.tails aww thank you! Padstow is definitely a foodie destination, you also have Paul Ainsworth’s well known restaurant at No6 there which is sublime (and he has accommodation you can stay in there which is also fab!), plus his other restaurant in Padstow and then his pub The Mariners which he now owns after purchasing from celebrity chef Nathan Outlaw just across the water in Rock… We were also lucky enough to secure a Chef’s Table at Mahé, this is also run by Paul Ainsworth at No6, and is the nerve centre for all of his restaurants where they develop new flavours and cooking techniques.
You are now inspiring me to do a whole new post on Foodie Cornwall!!
A couple of photos I took whilst we were in Paul Ainsworth at No6.
Some photos from our Chef’s Table experience at Mahé by Paul Ainsworth at No6, and what an experience it was!
Amazing food “art work” images … thank you @Samox24, my toast and marmite doesn’t quite compare. I don’t think I’ll post
Agree with others thoroughly enjoy Rick Stein I will have to take time to watch the series @cat.tails He was sitting opposite me on a BA flight to LA last year … I did wonder what he thought of the food. He refused breakfast
I really enjoyed Rick Stein’s series that was about a journey from Venice to Istanbul. I saw it several years ago and it stuck in my head. In a roundabout way, it was partially the reason why I joined Trusted Housesitters! After he pandemic, I planned to travel to Europe for an extended period and the idea was to go to Greece, Albania, Croatia then Italy and the UK. The idea to travel in Albania and Croatia was due to the Rick Stein series that I mentioned above.
As it turned out, while I was doing research for all that travelling I discovered the TH website and as they say, the rest is history
@Angela_L
I have heard it said that seasoned travellers never eat the hot food served on planes. Much better to eat beforehand and/or buy something like a sandwich or whatever and bring it on board. Harder for long journeys but it’s still possible to avoid eating the meals they serve on planes.
"A circus donkey embarks on a long, lonely journey, meeting human kindness and cruelty, in this strangely beautiful Oscar contender. " Warning, It has some sad parts.
Love Will Trent and his dog Betty!
I was happy to see Edge of Darkness (1985 UK political thriller)* is being repeated on BBC so I spent yesterday watching the first four episodes on BBC iplayer
(* Not to be confused with the 2010 US film version with Mel Gibson, which apparently is pretty dire.)
@Ketch thanks for the info. I saw this series many years ago. My parents had it on VHS tape (recorded from the TV I think) and I remember that I enjoyed it a lot. I will watch it again soon
@Samox24
your food photos are fabulous! Thanks so much for the info and the pics
@cat.tails Thank you and you are very welcome
