So far, I’ve just been living in the moment. 2025 was all about repeat sits after my summer gig as a guide in Southeast Alaska. Some of those were off THS too. Right now, I don’t have any big travel plans for 2026. My first sit will be a private one for a good friend in Sausalito, then I’m off to Port Townsend for another repeat sit for a month. After that, a shorter sit in Seattle before heading back to Sitka for my seasonal guide work. My only other goals right now are a birding trip to Costa Rica and maybe another trip to Iceland. Other than that, no big plans.

This probably sounds ridiculous, and unquestionably fortunate, but for each of the last few years (housesitting) then we have started the year with a flipchart with columns for months and rows for a few scenarios … then use post-it notes, with written country, to represent 1-2 month time period … and mark some fixed dates (e.g. family commitments). certainly gets creative juices flowing and stimulates thoughtful conversation as a couple. inevitably Plan A never happens in reality, and we’re opportunistic folks, but we find that the process of creating a Plan A is very useful.
We’re mostly booked for first half 2026 in Western Canada. Excited to return. After seven months in UK/Europe, without suitcases, then my spouse is looking forward to variety of clothing … me not so much 
By chance, last night we updated our THS profile with 2025 summary and 2026 plans. We have a section, within ‘About us’ of future months and desired locations. In summer 2026, we’d love to further explore Scotland (recently missed application window on a great looking sit in the Orkney Islands 
); in autumn/fall we’d relish opportunity to look after pets in Atlantic Canada.

Probably many goals are now on hold…. I know ours are for those long haul trips (Taiwan and Thailand were on this year’s list).
However we’ve got these 2 trips booked:
Prog Rock River Cruise starting Amsterdam- Bazel 8 days in July
then
River Cruise Danube Cities 8 nights Sep
Plus lots of short trips to Jersey Channel Islands and a few hops over to France.
