What Features Would You Like to See on THS?

@MissChef agree. Ive asked same question and put a key in my question. They could cut and paste :face_with_spiral_eyes:

(I was replying to your post, @MarieHuggins )

But maybe not automatic. A situation may arise for a home owner (or a sitter) that means they have to cancel everything they had lined up. That would probably be a significant life event, worthy of some understanding and forgiveness.

Probably already mentioned, but I would like to have the possibility to select BOTH “No pets” and certain Pets I would like to look after. Currently that’s not possible.

I can select nothing, or Any Pets, or specific Pets, or No Pets. I cannot select for example “No Pets” + “Cats” + “Small Pets” + “Birds”.

Because I usually filter out sits with Dogs, meaning I select all Pet categories except for Dogs, I also miss out on the “No pets” sits, cause I can’t select those as well. It’s all or nothing

Under the amenities transport section in a HO listing, , I’d like the nearest airport and or train station to be named with an approx distance, especially if the owner states it is accessible by public transport.
Not knowing the area you’re looking at makes it difficult to plan and work out if it’s feasible to apply as the clock is ticking loudly to be one of the F5 (first five). I’ve had to contact a sitter asking about transport who is is in a different time zone, wait for them to get back to me, meanwhile I’m taking up one of the F5 slots that isn’t fair on others, especially if I then decide transport wise that it isn’t doable.
Just a thought

You can just open the apply window, click the dates, and keep that browser window open and active.

Then you can do your investigations at ease and decide and compose your application. You might be number eight, but it should go though.

It would be good if THS had this information in the box where it now says (in grey): “Tell them why you’re perfect for this sit.”

(And THS could write other tips and tricks there, like “Check in the app whether the home owner has missing references.”)

The inability for homeowners to click the “Unconfirm sit” button for a previous confirmed sit and if sits need to be cancelled by either side, for the cancel initiator to go through member services. Too many people on this platform are unnecessarily cancelling.

Please please please could we have the ability to add more than 12 photos? I would like to add some after each sit (owners permission of course)., but it’s hard to chose which to delete.

Is there any reason why we can’t add more?

Hi @MarieHuggins we’ve pit your question here What Features Would You Like to See on THS? as this thread has much higher engagement and we have also shared your “wish” with the team on the product request internal channel

I wish there was a filter for “Smokers” so that I can filter out Owners who smoke! To be fair, the same filter should exist for Sitters.

Living and spending most of my time on the West coast of the United States, I take for granted that the vast majority of people are non-smokers. It is rare to see someone smoking as it is illegal in bars and restaurants and most public places. None of my friends or extended family smoke.

I would like to do international Sits, but I am concerned that a home might smell like smoke!

Oh, I like this one! My husband and I often want to take a few days off, but it isn’t worth our time to post the sit “just in case” someone stumbles upon it.

@pietkuip Apologies for the delayed reply. Thank you for responding to my post .
Two or three I’ve been in the throes of applying and rechecked the listing just to double check I was right, despite being told it would hold my place of being in those able to apply, I hit apply and was told it was no longer taking applications. I tried believing it would be fine, sadly it wasn’t :frowning: Hey ho

I would love to see somewhere besides the Trusted Times and this forum to catch platform updates. The 5-application limit and pause is not very new anymore, but there are still questions about it. And I just saw there was an update hidden in a sitter profile thread, which not everyone is going to click on:

I also didn’t know about the Trusted Times until today. Normally I unsubscribe to all marketing emails, but apparently I need to be subscribed to all “news, updates and exclusive offers” when the only thing I want are updates. Also, since I haven’t been subscribed until today, I don’t get to see any update history.

THS has a blog. Why not also put product updates there? Or create a dedicated release notes kind of page?

I would like to suggest that all important announcements, such as ID checks, pause after five and the changes to sitter’s profiles (that indicate years and types of pet care experience ) and owner’s listings (that now require pictures of the rooms in the home and now provide a list of amenities) be sent to every member of THS, whether they have opted in to notifications or not. Everyone should be informed of these changes.

I agree with @mars and @adelia
There should be a away that all members are informed of important announcements/ updates without having to also opt into receive marketing e-mails (exclusive offers) .

These should be in a separate category or published and accessible on the website.

The current system means that new members do not find out because the update happened before they joined.

For example the Help topic about unpausing listings has not been updated to include the 5 applicant change so makes no sense to new members trying to follow the instructions written there.

I completely agree that review publications should be simultaneous. Not sure about star rating. I think the problem is not the use of stars but the fact that the vast majority of people only use 5 stars. Then you end up relying on the written review and reading between lines. Perhaps there would be no retaliation fear with simultaneous publications and the star system might be more reliable.

Hi @Daisy999 , if you want to re-check the listing whilst in the throes of writing an application, it is essential not to do that by bak-cliking away from your application or you will lose your guaranteed submission.

To re-check the listing always open a new completely new window

Morning @Colin, thanks for replying. That’s what I do now, wasn’t going to have a third time mishap. I wasn’t back clicking, but used the three dots at the top right to view listing, but now I have the listing open on another device whilst applying.

Has your NZ adventure now come to an end? We’re off there on Jan/Feb.

All the best for your upcoming sits x

Hi @Daisy999 - you will love it!

Sadly, yes we are back in the UK now - we have just started a five-week sit in sunny ( so far!) Brighton. x

Hi @Silversitters
Thank you for bringing this our attention. I have passed this on to the relevant person to update.
