@Lokstar Nope. Nothing like that. The only option available is “Filter by Label.” I can only delete active profiles (I can unheart them). Anyone “Currently Not Active,” I can’t click on at all. Nothing happens. It’s really frustrating.
Another feature I’d LOVE to see: A “Report” button on listings. Right now we have to message or email a link to member services to report listings that break the rules. It’s too much work, and we’re not being paid to check and moderate listings. So if you want us to do this job for free, make it easier for us. (Listings should be checked for compliance before they even go up, but apparently not.)
Hey – What if we were paid?!
@admins could create a team of specially selected “deputy reporters” to search out and improve those tricky listings?
I saw one today where they think they will get free landscaping from the sitter. Your job is yardwork, watering plants, and preventing the forest from encroaching on their property… (insert Chris Tucker catchphrase here, I’ll spare you the gif.) (Insert meme of nobody wants to work anymore
)
When a deputy sees an issue with a HO listings, they can respond to the HO with suggestions, and it’s also sent “CC:” to a special support email address.
The result is that HO is notified, coached, instructed to correct and re-submit, and identified to support team.
(Someone has to review the HO listings we email in right now, so that’s not even anything different.)
Each submission gets counted/registered. The deputy who made the report would get a point, and points could be redeemed for additional months added to their account.
A deputy rotation of 3 months should be a good ROI on training.
I was surprised to learn that there’s no approval process. Instead it’s DIS-approvals, which are only managed IF someone takes time. *
ALSO, it’s distracting to copy a link and mail it to the team. How can I get in the First Five when I’m busy reporting the bad listings?
That slàve-labor post has no business on this website, but I’m not wasting my time cleaning up a mess I didn’t make.
I think my proposal works because we’re all looking at the posts all day, so it makes sense for selected subscribers to do this… It improves the platform for everyone, and it’s win - win - win
The third win is the HO gets coached on fixing the things that make nobody apply to their listing!
Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk

I wasn’t thinking & had a coffee at 430pm. Should have opted for wine instead!
@MissChef, you crack me up ![]()

There is a listing in Colorado right now that is for 10-2 week old puppies with someone else living in the house!
If a HO can request a sitter by sending their listing with one button and w/o having to write anything, why can’t the Sitters apply the same way with their profile page?
I’ve heard for many months the HO review system is being updated, what about the way the Sitters have to apply? Especially now that you have to do it in 5 minutes before they fill up.
Hi @katybojork. Would you please send me the link to that listing in a DM? Thanks.
Thanks @katybjork for the info on the puppy day sitting listing. I’ve sent it on to membership services for their attention.
Idk if you are talking about the phone app, which I don’t use much, but they are sorted that way on my computer. The ones not looking for a sitter are at the end and clearly marked.
I’m continually amazed by the things some sitters agree to!
@GillianWings
I’m usually looking at the mobile website or app. I haven’t checked on the PC.
@GillianWings I just looked and on my PC all of the listings reviewing do not come before all of the not looking listings. When I scroll futher I see more listings reviewing.
I might have misunderstood you. I thought you were talking about people looking for sitters vs those with no current dates. Maybe you meant those who have 5 applicants already vs those who don’t? If that’s what you meant, then no, I don’t see them sorted that way.
I had a sit where the 6 month old Labrador turned out to be two and the cat was dead!! The owner hadn’t bothered updating the posting.
@PawsomePetsitters Wow! I hope you found all that out BEFORE agreeing the sit!
I thought I was being slack not updating our sitter profile for years but hosts- Not updating when the pets have completely changed!!!
We recently did a sit where there were 3 cats and 2 dogs. It was 40°c high summer in Spain so we did not fancy dog walking duties in that heat. But as the sit was advertised for just the cats we applied. During the call the host asked if we’d like to have the dogs too?! They explained they usually sent the dogs to a nice dog hotel with ‘activities’ as the dogs hated the cats and had to be kept separate at home anyway… Also one of the dogs pulled hard on the lead and liked to escape…but as he could see from our previous reviews we loved dogs we were welcome to have them too!! ![]()

Errr… No Thanks!!! Way too much work & stress!!!
Then it turned out the dog hotel was fully booked! But thankfully they did not ask us again to reconsider. Phew!
They ended up sending the dogs to paid Rover home carers last minute- who turned out to be living in a flat with no garden! Yikes!
However it all worked out & everyone was OK!! Thank goodness!!![]()

No, I didn’t find out till I walked in the door. I think I said «wow, he’s big for a six month old» ![]()
There are probably a lot of features I’d like to see. I’m going to start with a simple one. In my THS message system, I’ve been in contact with some great sitters. However, when I ask a sitter back, it often doesn’t work due to dates, travel plans, etc. Sometimes there are sitters who didn’t wind up with the sit for whatever reason – often logistics. So when a sit comes up, I like to reach out and invite privately both great sitters who sat for me, and great sitters who didn’t. I can send a group email to see who is interested, but if I want to do private invitations to apply, I have to do one at a time. I’d like to be able to do a group private invitation so I could save time by finding out at once who is actually interested and can do particular dates. Ideally, since sometimes sitters favor my listing, I could even use this system to reach out to them. I feel this would be a better way for me to find sitters than random five fastest applicants.
Another feature related to the messaging/email system. Not only can’t I simply clean it up by deleting, but if a sitter was in my inbox and then became “inactive” I can’t even move the email to archive. Meanwhile, yesterday I noticed that all the emails from a sitter I used twice were missing. I assumed she was inactive on the site or had dropped her membership. I contacted her offsite to see what was up. She is still active. Why did her emails disappear? It’s a mystery. I was able to find her profile from the app on my phone when I looked for past sitters. The other thing I HATE about the email is the way the comments nest where it is really hard to see “older messages.” This is so not user friendly as there is a tendency to write a message and then add something with a second brief message. The second brief message will show, but it is very easy to miss what came before.
After 418 posts on the thread, I would like to see it shut down
Surely, and obviously, THS are not reading and acting on 418 suggestions and who for heaven’s sake is going to personally sit and read them all? It would be far more beneficial to members to post new threads individually so people take notice and read it, and THS would no doubt read it also, unlike scrolling through now, 419 posts. I have a headache 🫨:face_with_spiral_eyes:
Hi @ziggy. Actually we moderators do read the comments here and pass along ideas to the product team. I’ve read them all, as have the other moderators. Members of the product team keep their eyes on this topic too. It’s easier for the product team if we keep these suggestions together, so they don’t have to search through the forum for them.
