Spent an enjoyable week in Bucerias, Mexico a couple of weeks ago. This was my last sunset pic prior to flying home!

In the Portland, Oregon, area — in the U.S. Pacific Northwest. Terrific region with city, coastline beaches, rivers, forests, charming beach towns and much more. This shot is from yesterday. There are drives with one waterfall after another. And they’re going strong now, because the snow in higher regions is melting.

We have been in Perú for 5 1/2 months. Currently we are in Nasca. We visited this ancient aqueduct today.

This was the moment that this poor little pup showed he trusted me and knew he was safe.

He had been in a traumatic accident this week and has sustained some terrible life changing injuries and undergone surgery and other medical procedures . His owners were attending a family wedding yesterday and needed someone to sit with him for the day ( not a THS sit )

Understandably traumatised by the events of the week , he initially kept his distance, growled and showed his little teeth when I ( a stranger to him ) approached .

I gave him space and sat where I could keep an eye on him so that he didn’t feel threatened, reassuring him in a calm voice . Some hours later he came and sat by me - this is the moment captured on camera . :face_holding_back_tears: He spent the rest of the day by my side .

Oh poor soul  wishing him a good recovery after what he’s been through. I’m glad he had such a safe, trustworthy caretaker while his owners were away.

I just thought I would share this, a White Hart from my window up near Haworth backing on to the moors. I have been here a few times before looking after Willow. Her owners book me a year ahead. I have seen deer here before especially in winter but never a white one. Steeped in mythology.

Thanks for sharing @Chrissy - lovely photos! Is there any particular mythology around white deer? My friend has one that visits her garden every so often. So beautiful!

Yes I looked it up. White Hart, Celtic people considered them to be a messengers from the ‘Otherworld’ and Arthurian legend claimed that the beast represented mankind’s spiritual quest and signalled that it was time for Arthurs Knights to pursue a quest.

The term ‘Hart’ of course comes from the archaic term for deer and the name white hart has over the years also been associated with the ghostly figure of ‘Herne the Hunter’ as well as being adopted as the emblem of the Plantagenet king of England Richard II.
