I’ll be at the beach just out of Geelong, Victoria, Australia for 2 weeks over Christmas and New Year in a fabulous house with a gorgeous kitty. As I grew up in the area, it’s going to be a great opportunity to catch up with friends plus enjoy time at the beach and, of course, lots of kitty cuddles.
Hey @Lokstar, I’ll be in Mt Kiara also!! We must both be sitting for international teachers. Definitely have to stay in touch
Absolutely! We’re flying to India today! & to KL sit on 11th- starts 13th. Will PM u nearer the time!
@Lokstar hilarious! I start on the 13th also. Enjoy your time in India, great destination, and from a bad experience, don’t put the water anywhere near your mouth. Sick sick I was for a very long time
It looks like KL is the place to be this Christmas.
And let’s hope @ziggy the sun makes an appearance for the holiday season, as I haven’t seen it in the past couple of months I’ve been here (though there’s certainly no shortage of heat and humidity ).
@august so where have you been sitting the past few months? I have had cold weather everywhere I’ve been in Europe/UK and now in the UAE in the heat which is lovely. Malaysia is looking perfect. Are you in KL also at Christmas?
Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Malaysia which are all 30–35°C - could be bearable if not for the extreme humidity. In contrast, except for the three summer months, there is no humidity in the UAE. The weather is lovely (although I find the winter months a bit chilly, especially in the morning).
Right now, a quick Google search shows the humidity in Malaysia at 81%, while in Dubai, it’s 51%. Apparently, 65% or higher is considered oppressive.
Yes, I am. Staying until about Jan 8.
Yes, humidity is the worst. I’m actually in Ras el-Khaimah up north of Dubai, right on the Persian Gulf. Weather is hot but lovely, no humidity that I’m noticing, but I’m Australian
So you must try for a meet-up in KL also, we could end up with quite the Christmas party the way things are going
My partner and I don’t sit over the holidays - we prefer to be with our families. This year we’re we’re my partner’s family in Romania; this is what his hometown looks like at Christmas “Crăciun fericit” (Merry Christmas!)
We’re heading to Sydney to watch a dog for almost 5 weeks. First time in Australia
We’re on a relaxing 3-month long sit in a lovely home in Yorkshire, looking after 2 darling cats. We’re not too far away from family and our generous hosts have said we’re welcome to invite guests, so it’s just perfect!
After a weather warning of ‘significant snowfall’ we saw about an inch of snow this week, which lasted for less than 24 hours. Nevertheless, it’s got us feeling Christmassy and we might put the tree up soon.
It’s been absolutely amazing to see everyone’s plans for the festive season! I really hope that you’ll pop back and share your experiences and photos on the Forum.
We’ll be in Kalkan, Turkey on a 2 week sit looking after these lovely reprobates again (pic from Feb) with a Xmas visit from the UK oldies & a daily sea swim after the four-legged walks
#someonehastodoit
I’ll be sitting with two cats in Shropshire, UK. I’ve booked to see Twelfth Night at the RSC in Stratford and lunch at a Michelin ** Indian restaurant in Birmingham - Xmas present from me to me .
I’ll be in Geneva for four weeks watching over two kitties. This is the first sit that my 18yo will be joining me for!
Enjoy! Sounds wonderful.
Beautiful! We just returned from our first ever visit to Romania (not house sitting, alas). We loved it!
I lived in KL for three years and drank water from the tap.
And make sure to visit some wineries!
