Great time of the year to be in that part of the world!
Wow, nice! Yeah it’s quite rare to find pet-sits here, but an incredible country to explore with so much to offer. Where abouts did you go?
There’s a really great documentary series by Charlie Ottley called ‘Flavours of Romania’ which really showcases the country’s growing tourism industry - highly recommend if you plan on coming back one day!
Hello @FrogsMom,
That sounds interesting, Geneva.
We are also at Lake Geneva, in Saint-Gingolph, over Christmas and are also looking after two cats.
Best regards
I’ll be catsitting in Sydney for a month, and what was supposed to be a 1 cat sit has now become 2!: they recently picked up an abandoned kitten, so the mellow cat they already had now has company from a cheeky little youngster
I will check it out. In which town were your beautiful photos taken?
We will be in Sitges near Barcelona sitting for two cats. We drive so hoping all the roads are good after the floods. Imagine our delight when we discovered one of our favourite artists was doing a gig in Barcelona. Tickets booked. Love this part of Spain. Will then go further south to a family house so hopefully some sunshine. Looking for a February/March sit in Spain but nothing advertised yet. Still plenty of Christmas and New year sits coming up though. We are staying out of UK for 89 days just inside the 90 days allowed. (The joy of Brexit)
@Aideen - I was once in a bar in Sitges about 35ish years ago and Petula Clark was there as a customer!
I think she was a friend of the owner and was talked into singing a couple of songs accompanied just by a man on a piano - There was only about 50 customers in that night, what an unexpected treat!
Colin, what a treat. It’s a lovely town, we are going to be in Spain on January 6th (Feast of Kings) and have been to some memorable events on this day before. Love seeing other traditions. Best one ever was Valencia, but poor Valencia hasn’t much to celebrate this year.
I lived in Cyprus during my teenage years , it was paradise. We lived in Famagusta before the invasion. Have been back several times, love the harbour at Paphos. Enjoy
That sounds amazing, and such a beautiful place to spend Christmas! I’m very familiar with the area, it’s magical and will be even more so if it snows! Enjoy your time there!
Would you believe, I’m still looking
We’re heading to two new UK locations for us - Christmas in the New Forest and New Year’s by the coast in Suffolk
Both brilliant locations for that time of year @avocadotoast - might be worth checking out Limewood Hotel if you want to splurge on afternoon tea in the Forest. And The Pig in Brockenhurst is excellent for lunch or dinner too. Such a nice area and so many good walks! Where in Suffolk are you going? #greatchoices
Oh thank you for the tip @cuttlefish. That hotel certainly looks fab
We’ll be based in Stutton for New Year’s. The homeowners have sent us a brilliant PDF on the area - looking forward to it!
After sitting on islands in the Mediterranean the last 2 holiday seasons, we’re switching it up and will be sitting in Amsterdam this Christmas & New Years. Our son will be coming to stay with us there from the US for a few days(with the approval of the pet owner).
I don’t sit over the holidays, I’ll be spending it with friend’s and family in the Bay area California , and then central coast California for Christmas… After that a private sit with a 10 month.old Cavapoo and her 10 year old Yorkie cousin. After several months straight sitting just nice to be around family and friends.
After a month so far of travelling in South America, we arrived in Quito yesterday, we now have just over a fortnight before our Christmas housesit for 5 weeks near Cuenca
