Hi, I am a newbie owner in Tampa, FL, with five kitties and a bird, and, a cross-country, long distance relationship; my beau lives in WA state.

Hi @slhood welcome to our community forum … so glad to have you join.

We have new and experienced members, you’ll find all help and advice you might need when looking to engage sitters for your furry and feathery family. It sounds as if you have the best of both worlds glorious sunny and warm (often hot) Florida and the beauty of the Upper Pacific Northwest, we hope you get to welcome your first sitters very soon so that you can visit your beau in WA.

Enjoy the conversation and connecting with other members, a small and active group we will be welcoming all of our global community very soon … you are here at the Forum from the very beginning.

We can’t wait to get to know you better.

Hi Brigitte,
Down here in the Algarve is now one of the safest places in the world!
From the worst to the best in 3 months, it can be done.
We had a very hard lockdown, now just slowly coming out.
We have been here so long 18 months, don’t ask!
We are now trying to get residency, because of the new 90 day rule for UK citizens.
Hopefully will succeed, as we are getting ready for another sit with same hosts.
Keep safe.

  • I’m currently at home in Northeast Wisconsin
  • I’m finally starting to get things situated (and feel situated) to head back to the UK in a few weeks.
  • There’s been some rain (we needed it) so the grass is suddenly green and there are finally buds on the trees!

We’re in Roanoke, Virginia USA where the weather has suddenly turned to summer! We’re expecting a wave of thundershowers over the next day or two, so a highlight for us today was walking around town admiring all the trees and flowers in bloom.

Where are you? @TheMapleKiwi

I’m still in Cove, Scotland where I have been since March 27th 2020 … and it’s very chilly with snow on the foot hills. The Loch is Loch Long and it is right outside my door.

It definitely is!
We’re here since beginning January. Lovely to spend winter in such a gorgeous climate. ( We used to live in Belfast for 7 years, so you know what I mean )

As you say @Provence a catastrophe, how has this adverse weather affected the grape growers? @HousesittingMag posted a photograph of vineyards lighting fires to protect the vines.

Just to say. Montreal area, Quebec. 24 C yesterday. A record of all time. Kids in shorts and T-Shirt playing outside on April 10th. Never seen before.
