We are on a sit on the Connecticut shore, having a delightful time with a huge, 13-year-old mastiff/Great Dane mix and two sociable cats. Ends tomorrow.
Big love ! I’d so easily sign up to that ! Glad you’ve had a wonderful time there. Thanks for sharing thd photos!
I’m located very near to Blenheim Palace. It’s a two mile walk which I would happily do but the dog is on heat ( for the first time, she’s still a pup) so we are keeping a low profile.
April is a glorious month to be in UK and we have 3 family birthdays in April so I try to be here for them. The springtime of the year and out with a dog or two is my best foot forward!
@Highfive Your sit looks amazing and a very happy belated Birthday to you! ![]()
I hope you get lucky and manage to see a kingfisher or an otter. ![]()
My birthday is this Sunday, Sam but thanks for the good wishes! I checked about the pub being dog friendly this morning but the owner wisely advises me to leave the dog at home.. Luna is on heat and it could spoil my luncheon experience, sowing seeds of pandemonium!
Barring a dog could become a first for a thirsty black Lab! Ha ha!
I realize with a Labrador there’s not a lot of spatial awareness, or indeed the concept of personal space.
Luna doesn’t think she’s grown and is, in her mind, still a petite lap dog size. As a result she’s happy “to fit” next to me whether it’s a single chair designed for ONE PERSON occupancy or to "share " a more spacious garden bench. I’m always feeling cramped but the payback is the warmth we generate (never mind it’s a hot, sunny day!) and a very happy companion! Why would I selfishly choose a single chair in the first place? Love is love and a LOVE CHAIR or CUDDLE SEAT it is!
Luna sounds a real character - you are going to miss her.
You’re so right! She’s my idea of perfection.. but would I get a pup and call a halt to these amazing opportunities? It’s a dilemma. Living in the present is what dogs have taught me. That is enough.
If I got my own pup I wouldn’t get the chance to revisit some amazing pets I’ve met along my way. This one has made me realize I don’t need more than one dog to fulfill my retirement dreams.
