Freddy wanting me to open the window to his dinner instead of using the cat flap 3 ft away one of our feline five this week
And I suppose you did open the window for Freddy as his temporary slave @Cuttlefish!!
Nope. I’m a meanie @temba. We had a chat through the glass until he understood
Am clearly also boring Trevor this morning
We recently arrived at Brighton, UK, to care for these elderly brothers.
They are 18 and a bit frail but both still reasonably active for their age
Curious: Is Einstein notably smarter than the two others?
What kind of dog is the lighter one? Interesting looking pup.
@Maggie8K Daphne is a Bedlington Terrier x Whippet, known as a Bedlington Whippet or a “Beddy whippet”. Not a super common crossbreed, but the second we have cared for on a sit, and they look just like each other!
Pearl looks similar to Daphne and is also an interesting mix: golden retriever, springer spaniel, and black poodle!
btw, Einstein is a dork @Maggie8K …
Pearl has a great look!
@PVGemini Pearl is certainly an interesting mix and her dark fur around the eyes is very much like Daphne! I imagine she is a bit sturdier though - Daphne does have a mostly sighthound physique. Pearls fur looks thicker than Daphne’s too. Daphne’s is wavy and a bit straggly!
I’m about to wrap up my sit with three lively Birman Cats Hudson, Rafferty and Orla in Overton Hampshire. It’s been a joy minus the rain hanging with this trio and exploring the area . Highlight was a day trip to brockenhurst to see the New Forest ponies. Here’s a few photos including a Happy Cinco de Mayo i made for their parents.
Any ponies photos?
We have been on this sit for a week and only this morning discovered why the cat food has been going so quickly!
Yes, I’ll post them at the bottom of the thread 🫏
@BonnyinBrighton had asked if I had some Pony photos from my day trip to the New Forest and the answer is “yes” so heres a few including some of the New Forest Donkeys as well. For those who are unfamiliar the New Forest Ponies have roamed the landscape for 2,000 years. Despite the appearance of being wild, they are free roaming, however they are owner by Commoners. Twice a year they do roundups to check on their health and any new foals etc… and then they’re back to grazing and keeping the landscape beautiful and maintained.
@Colin oh that just begs more details!
@Jenny or @Carla this one’s got to make it into a newsletter or something!
@HelloOutThere This is brilliant! I will add it to our list and share it with the team who writes the newsletter. Keep an eye out and hopefully it will make an appearance
@toml awww, beautiful. I have a soft spot for the seniors. Precious.
