My name is Jenny, and I’m your new Community Manager. I’ll be helping the team look after the Forum.
A few facts about me:
I’m 42 (and as Douglas Adams fans know, 42 is the meaning of life, the universe and everything!)
I was born and raised in Scotland, and live there still
I have an elderly black cat called Walter (see below for Walter at his spooky best) - he was a rescue and nobody knows his true age
My professional experience in Community Management spans a couple of years, but I’ve used online forums for over two decades
My hobbies include reading, live music, walking, and cooking
I’m new to the world of housesitting and can’t wait to learn all about it
Although this is my first post here, I’ve been lurking for a few days, and I’m really enjoying reading all of your thoughts and ideas about life, the universe, THS, and everything!
It’s amazing to have joined a community with so much heart and soul, and I am looking forward to getting to know it, and all of you.
Welcome @Jenny in your new role as Community Manager. Walter is a real cutie. As you learn more about the sitting community you might find yourself in need of a sitter too!
Maybe TH should setup a section for members, like Nomador does, where homeowners make a welcome room available for fellow members for a day/night to stay between sits.
I’m in Ayrshire. I spent 3 months during covid between Melrose and Selkirk when my house was uninhabitable because of stalled house renovations. Lovely area!
Welcome, @Jenny. I think the easiest (only?) way to learn about petsitting is to do it. So, I hope your first couple TH sits/hostings go well! Each sit is so unique. I love reading all the stories that people share here; even the “bad” ones are at least enlightening. And they’re all so real.
