Automatic payment

So I have requested not to do automatic payment BUT each time I go on the site and even 5 minutes after I have changed it, it reverts back to automatic. I have taken a photo of what it replied to me asking if I was sure I dont want an automatic renewal and all the things I will lose if I dont. OK, This may be a glitch in the system but it is just NOT GOOD ENOUGH or very ethical. Please review this.

What did member services say when you contacted them? They don’t read the forum so they aren’t going to see this or be able to help you unless you contact them.

I agree with you although I leave mine on automatic renewal. Just like any other organisation, such as insurance cos or RAC etc where you might have ticked auto renewal, they should still give a reminder near the renewal date

@Del just a thought - do you have confirmed sits / sitters for after the date your current membership expires ?

The system won’t let you cancel auto renew if you have confirmed sits after the date your current membership expires .

Ok. That is probably what has happened. Although we dont have a confirmed sit we have applied for one. Thanks

Off-topic, but RAC auto-renewed my membership recently. Their notification email didn’t tell me how much my new membership would be, and it was significantly more than the previous year’s. They then tried (unsuccessfully) to charge me a £25 ‘admin fee’ when I cancelled and switched to cheaper provider, even though it was still within the 14 day cancellation period. I believe companies have a legal obligation to notify you not only of the renewal, but also of the renewal price - so keep an eye out! THS would never do anything so naughty, I’m sure.
