This just popped up on my Facebook memories, 5 years ago today in Yosemite National Park on a beautiful Autumnal day
It is beautiful I recommend wearing some good hiking shoes to trek up to the castle. I took the shuttle part way up then walked the remainder of the way. There is also a beautiful lake to relax by after you’ve seen the castle.
@kimshady Fabulous and thank you for the tip
@Maggie8K Wow! stunning
Thanks, @Samox24. We go to various parks (or school grounds or office parks) near our house nearly every day and just happened to catch the right day, right light.
With those photos, the colors kept changing as sunlight filtered through the clouds.
Lovely photos @Silversitters
Looks like a great sit!
In the Jamestown and Williamsburg area of the state of Virginia today, where America was first settled by the British. The ships are replicas of those that landed.
Sugar Maples in my backyard near Toronto, Ontario, Canada. My 4 month summer sit ended Oct. 1st. So I am back home preparing my house for sale. I plan to be a full-time house sitter and RV van camper in 2024 (5th year)
More lovely photos @Maggie8K
Best wishes on your big adventure, @DavidZ081!
I’m trying to get my husband to RV more.
My last 4 years combining house sits and van camping has been the best of both. I watch many VanLife videos, cheaprvliving Bob Wells, Nomadland movies and blogs.
While I can be very comfortable sleeping in my van May-June and Sept-Oct, the very hot summers and very cold winters are best in a house sit.
I will likely try a Snowbird trip down south one year. -Dave
Fall colors from Colonial Williamsburg, which is billed as the largest living history museum in the world. It’s in the U.S. state of Virginia.
@Maggie8K Some gorgeous fall colours there
I hear you. I enjoy consuming a bunch of RV and van life content. The efforts to stay warm or cool — especially because weather has been more extreme, according to many van lifers or full-time RV’ers — don’t sound fun at all. Your best of both worlds approach makes total sense.
My husband and are currently road tripping in our Mercedes Sprinter. We got that size, because they fit in standard car width parking, which allows greater flexibility. We still stay at hotels, but the RV generator and solar panels allow us to temperature control when we leave our dog inside while we sightsee. To us, that’s best of both worlds, because we can have our dog with us. He loves road trips, as well as hotels, LOL.
Maggie,
I like your profile pics, specifically the collages of pets with their names. Good idea!
If you have a home, a Sprinter van, and can stay in hotels, how much house sitting do you like to do a year?
