Hove Actually!
This is what locals say about living in Brighton UK.
@BonnyinBrighton Ah memories! I lived in Brighton for a few years but spent a lot of time in Hove. Walking my dog along the promenade between the two
Thank you for sharing.
I have two places. I’m not a tropical beach type person but a rugged windswept type.
So Keel Strand on Achill Island in County Mayo is my #1.
#2 would be Moclips beach on the Washington coast. Almost always deserted and always has a wind blowing.
A gorgeous photo @BonnyinBrighton
it’s making me long to go back to Brighton, I’ve not been since 2017!
That’s too long to be away from this magical crazy city by the sea! ![]()
@Sam_F lovely picture, hope to get there someday. ![]()
@BonnyinBrighton I see a lot of pet sitting opportunities for Brighton. Timing hasn’t worked out yet but it’s on my list.
Let me know when you’re applying I can help to identify good sits regarding the area. It’s a fabulous full on place to live! Hove is best to sleep in and Brighton is best for partying! No dogs on tourist beaches May to Sep but we have lots of parks plus the South Downs are nearby and walking distance from many places. Best wishes.
Greve de Lecq Jersey CI
The sand is thick and yellow quite different to sands on other Jersey beaches almost like builders sand. Very good for building ditches/castles etc
Yeah, I so love the beaches here too, tho I stopped swimming at lovers’point when Steve was attacked two years ago ( and another Kelp crawler last week was eaten) by great whites. I swim in my hometown in shallow waters w surfers at 38 th avenue in Santa Cruz…and am currently on a sit in Inverness which is by Pt. Reyes…stunning but not swimable either…
I find this way more appealing than the usual sand/surf beaches. Love the marshes along beaches in New England, some of which look very similar to this one in Denmark. And I agree that the beaches with a strong emotional connection are my favorites. For me, Maine (U.S.) beaches fill me up the most.
