My understanding of “favourite-ing” a listing is that I’d be notified when the HO posts for a new sit … ?
Yet, t’isn’t so as there have been a few fave listing openings that I stumbled upon by chance.
What gives ? And what is the point of favourites if I’m incorrect in the above assumption ?

Favourites have been discussed many times. Use the eyeglass, type in Favourites and all the threads will appear.

I receive push notifications from the app, but I do not believe email notifications are an option. You can view your favorites and apply a filter for those accepting applications
I do receive notifications on my iPhone when my “favorites” post new dates, however, if the listing gets 5 applications before I even click on the link/notification, I believe that the link disappears.
Perhaps someone else can confirm this.

It doesn’t disappear but it shows as reviewing, while if you search on the website, instead of following the link, it won’t show. So it does help because if the owners decline candidates soon, you may have a second chance.
Something weird happened to me last week. I was in the street waiting at a traffic light and checked my saved search alarms. I opened a link to an interesting sit but continued walking and did nothing further, I did not press the application button. When I got home, I searched on the IPad and it was gone but I still had the page open on my phone and it let me apply. In fact, I got the sit.

I will have to pay more attention to the notifications and see what happens with them. I could have sworn that some notifications disappeared at times.
Anyway, make sure to check the settings on your phone. You have to allow the notifications. Perhaps that is the problem.
