Sitters choose the best homes with least work. If you don’t get any applications, it is just the market conditions.
In my opinion, a one hour daily walk with two wild and crazy Labradoodle dogs would not make me consider your sit at all. There are SOooo many other choices in the peak summer season. Sleeping in my bed too? No way!
Consider: You dont need to show ALL the rooms of your house. Please DO show the Sitters bedroom made up fresh and neat as a pin, the best you can.
The pet pic of your dog snarling at the leash is a huge red flag for me. Feral and out of control wild dogs are just too much work for a free sitter. Good luck.
I took care of a border collie that did that when he wanted to play tug-of-war with me. It was the best dog that I ever sat, sweet and smart and very well-behaved. I will do a repeat sit this summer. But yes, maybe better to leave it out.
There are not that many sits in Devon. This looks like a nice one to me (except for the sleeping arrangements). I would enjoy the walks in that landscape.
Thanks for the feedback. Waffle wasn’t snarling at all, he was playing with a rope toy. But that just shows how photos can be misinterpreted, which is useful in itself!

@Wafflesmum I’m a bit late joining the conversation here, and I can see you have made many of the suggested changes to your listing. It looks an appealing sit, and I’ve added it to my favourites. We sit as a family and I really appreciate you showing all the bedrooms and listing the bed sizes, it’s really helpful information for sitters who need more than one bedroom.
I do agree that the main photo being the view of the road junction isn’t your best photo. Not everyone would agree with what you should replace it with. There was a forum thread a few years ago about what sort of photo would make you click on a listing to read further. Some like to see the pets, some the house, some the garden or a nice view. All of these options have at different times prompted me to open a listing. Maybe just pick your favourite from the photos and use that as the main one!
