I’m not sure if this is a recent change but I’ve noticed that on forum threads when someone replies directly to an existing reply, their reply shows up both directly underneath what they replied to, and at the end of the thread. This is quite confusing and I keep starting to read replies before realising I’ve already read them. I think it would be better if they only showed up directly below what you’re replying to.
That only happens if I click on the replies link under the post they responded to. It doesn’t show by default. And it’s a feature, not a bug, so it’s easy to see direct replies vs having them randomly appear down thread. Personally I prefer to see them further down the thread vs right under the response.

Totally agree! Keeping replies strictly under the comment they’re responding to would make the flow so much smoother.
No, this isn’t recent and yes, very annoying like so many things and something else that won’t get fixed in my lifetime
