Sadly not going to the party at the palace concert but we will be attending our local Jubilee events in the Cotswolds over the next couple of days which should be fun!

Today we have a village outdoor lunch (let’s hope the British weather doesn’t stay true to form!) 
followed by classic games of egg & spoon races, sack races and suchlike, our very own village Ascot (hobbyhorse) race! 
… then best hat parade 
… village photo (290 residents) 
…followed by a traditional pub quiz in the village pub this evening (very competitive!!) 
Then tomorrow we will be heading to Blenheim Palace for the Jubilee celebrations there along with their food fair with Raymond Blanc in attendance

I’ll look forward to seeing photos of the village activities from today @Samox24 and @Kelownagurl. What you have described is so typical of village celebrations.
I was in London for Charles and Diana’s wedding so can well imagine what the atmosphere and decorations were like on Thursday.
Enjoy Blenheim Palace and the celebrations there as well as the food fair.

I can vividly remember that day @Samox24. The night before we’d been in Hyde Park for the celebrations then we walked down the Mall to Buckingham Palace along with thousands of others. People were camped along the route in sleeping bags and chairs so they’d have front row views. The atmosphere was unbelievable as was the actual wedding day. Something never to be forgotten as the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee will be for you.

After all the fun in the village yesterday today we headed to Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire where they had a food festival for the Jubilee weekend.
We came across these absolutely adorable Valais Blacknose sheep, originally from the mountains of Switzerland

The photo above is Woodstock, the market town in Oxfordshire where Blenheim Palace is located and shows the preparations behind me for their street party lunch which they had earlier today. 
The very beautiful lady Rosemary Spencer-Churchill’s Dress worn for the Queen’s Coronation which is currently on display at Blenheim Palace.

We are hoping to go into Oxford for a bit tomorrow but maybe Tuesday? Hard to say though, that will be cleaning and packing day as well.
