Hi All, I’m Julie and currently live in Bath with my grown up daughter, our vizsla ‘Gravy’ and two cats, Seamew and Mary. We’re new to THS and haven’t hosted or done any sitting yet, but are counting down the days to when we can start! Having this forum is a great way to learn more about what to expect and the best ways to do it. Really enjoying reading everyone’s posts!
Welcome @julieb!
I absolutely love Bath, what a beautiful, historic place to live. You will love housesitting, it’s so much fun, a wonderful way to see the world and connect with interesting people and their pets.
Hi @julieb welcome to our community forum and thank you for joining us from the beautiful city of Bath, I’m curious to know how your Vizsla got the name of Gravy?

Hi @julieb from just up the road in Cheltenham! My husband often works in beautiful Bath.
Hi Julieb, we are not far away from you in Oxfordshire and we cannot wait to start our house sitting adventure!
Welcome Julieb
Hi @Angela_L,
Really chuffed to be here and can’t wait to get started. Gravy our Vizsla is named after ‘Little Laughing Gravy’. My partner was a big Laurel & Hardy fan and Little Laughing Gravy was a dog that featured in one of their films. We always said that if we ever had a dog that’s what we would call it! Sadly my partner passed away a few years ago, but Gravy is a loving and loved member of our family and always here to lift our spirits and raise a smile. Not sure what I’d do without him!
Thank you @Provence, let’s hope it won’t be too long before we can all start travelling again.
Hi @Lindsay, I can’t wait to get started! Very much looking forward to meeting new friends (both 2 and 4 legged varieties! )
Bath is beautiful and it’s felt very strange during lockdown not to have the buzz of visitors, hopefully we won’t have to wait too much longer before we can all get travelling again.
Thank you so much @Windtalker. Really looking forward to getting started.
Good luck @Samox24, we’re really looking forward to getting started too. You live in a lovely part of the world and not that far from me at all!
Hi @Debbie, Cheltenham is lovely! I especially love the literary festival. Hopefully won’t be too long before it’s back.

Hi Julie
And welcome. I’ve done a petsit in Bath it’s a lovely place.
Good luck with finding your first sit.
I’ve applied for 2 so far this year and still waiting to hear back
Box is fantastic! On our last visit to Bath, we rented an Airbnb in Box for a couple of days, we loved it and really hope to get back there some day.
Hi @Debkay, I love Box and have a few friends who live there. It seems to have a really solid community spirit about the place. I grew up in Bradford on Avon so not far away at all. Lovely part of the world.
Thanks @Crazydoglady i can’t wait to get started. Good luck with your pet sits, I hope you hear back soon.
