Hello, just finding my way around here on the forum. We’ve been using the site for a few years as both owners and sitters and really loved both sides of the experience. Currently have dates needing a housesitter 1-12 April and very surprised we have’nt received one application yet! Usually we have so many applicants to choose from. Today I directly contacted about 20 potential housesitters but still no luck. Curious why this is. Thanks everyone!

Hello @Justineflow and welcome. You’ll find many conversations on the forum relating to how things are so different from the days before the pandemic. Both sitters and homeowners have had to continually adjust and adapt to every-changing times. We’re all hopeful that we’re seeing light at the end of the tunnel, but many are still being cautious compared to pre-pandemic times.
If you’d like to make it easier for forum members to find your listing, you can embed it into your forum profile. Forum members often then give constructive feedback on how you might improve your listing, as most of us have found we need to adapt our listings or profiles from time to time.
If you are a standard or premium member, you can boost your listing once, so keep that in mind. You may also want to search for sitters in your area. Many who are just starting out will be happy to do their first sits locally. If you’d like to have your listing promoted on social media, please direct message @Angela_L and she’ll take care of that when she’s next online.

Hi @Justineflow I’ve looked at your listing and would suggest you add photos of where the sitter(s) will sleep and the bathroom. You will read on the forum that sitters like to see photos of the areas they will be using.
Other than that, I think your listing is clear and inviting. Other forum members may have other suggestions for you.

Hi @Justineflow, I’ve just found your listing and, as an experienced sitter, I endorse what Snowbird has advised. Sitters really want to see their bedroom and bathroom (don’t you as a sitter?). It’s great you have included living area and kitchen. Just have one garden photo and add the bedroom and bathroom.
Times have changed as a result of the pandemic and sitters are being more hesitant and perhaps choosy about where they want to sit. There has been a lengthy thread on the forum where it was most clear that sitters want to see internal photos of where they will be living and THS now request owners to include these important photos in their listings.

I have in the meantime, taken the liberty of re-boosting your listing so that it now appears on top of the website and is sent out to all the available sitters again. There is a little New button on the top.
