Hi to everyone from sunny western Colorado. My son is graduating from the University of British Columbia-Vancouver and my wife and I are hoping to house sit there.

I live in a suburb of Vancouver. The sits in Vancouver come up frequently but they are snapped up quite quickly so you will have to be quick on applying especially in the downtown core. I notice sits around the UBC/Dunbar area aren’t quite as popular and I’ve also seen some sits in the UBC residences. Best of luck in obtaining a suitable sit to visit your son!

Two years ago I was visiting a friend in Canada and she told me about a site called House Sitters Canada. I joined it while there and had a lovely sit. Canadians are so laid back. It is only for house sits for Canada. The company does not vet either party. If I was a pet parent I would like the security of TH doing a background check on sitters. I was lucky and had a great sit for a lovely doctor and his wife.
My friend who lives one hour ferry ride from Vancouver also put something on Facebook for me saying I was traveling Canada and looking for house sits. I had another lovely sit this way. House was on the beach and another laid back homeowner. Have your son post on Facebook
For you. Good luck

We were member of that site for one year and did a sit up in the Okanagan but it doesn’t offer the amount of sits that THS does. We had a good experience and glad you did as well!

@jenglish7477, we lived in Vancouver for many years. Simply beautiful location. If bonkers property prices!
There are plenty of housesit listings in Vancouver area.
Suggest learn, setup and experiment with THS Saved Search function. Depending on your time zone, try monitor new listings at optimal times of day - we face that issue when in Canada seeking housesits in UK/Europe.
Some Pet Parents may seek local housesitters. But this is generic, not specific to Vancouver.
Experimentation. Patience. Perseverance. But confident that you’ll find something.
