How to list different sets of pets?

Hi! New here, and haven’t done a listing yet. I’m wondering, how would it work best. We have a dog and two cats. We won’t be leaving them all for a sitter (unless we find a true gem at some point!). Sometimes it will be just the dog, sometimes the 2 cats. So, the question is: should I make two separate listings?

Hello & welcome  @CatsAndDog - we can’t help with how to list or not list different sets of pets unfortunately but, just so say, we’ve done loads of multi animal sits - just finished taking care of 3 dogs, 3 cats & a tortoise in Dalyan, Turkey and we love them so don’t not include your three because you think it’s too much for a sitter. It’s definitely not :+1:

Thanks, great to hear from your experience! Our dog and cats are not the best friends with each others, so I’m afraid keeping everyone safe and happy might be a bit too much for someone not familiar with them all :joy_cat:

Hello @CatsAndDog Welcome to the community forum, it’s lovely to have you here and as you can already see there are lots of wonderful members ready to welcome you and help

I can help with that one

You can only create one home listing within your membership fee, but that’s all you will need as you can either update the pet icons and responsibilities and welcome guide each time you post new dates, depending on which pets you will need care for. (The main body of your listing will stay the same).

Or you can create a listing with both sets of pets and just update the title and intro for each sit. So for example I have seen in an intro ‘My May dates are only for Fred the cat as I am taking my dog with me’

Or in the title/intro - ‘12th - 16th May just the cat’
‘22nd August - 7th September Cat & dog need care’.

These are just examples.

The great news is that your listing is easy to edit once it is originally set up and you can add and remove or update things as you go.

If you do decide that you would like to leave all of the pets then clearly write your routine with them in your listing. I have seen several listings where the cats are kept in separate parts of the home from the dogs and the owner explains the logistics. (I am not sure if this is the case but just an example for you).

You can also say that you would like sitters that are available to meet before the sit and go through the routine with you.

There are several options and you need to do what works for you and your fur babies.

We would love to see a photo fo your pets!

Great question to ask. All I would say as a sitter is to make it clear if posting several dates which animals would be home on corresponding dates. There are quite often listings where people are very vague and you are left not knowing which pets will be home on the dates you are interested in and you may lose potential applicants due to this.

Good point! Being clear is so important!
