I’m no longer a full time sitter and enjoyed having a few destinations on my wishlist that I would consider travelling for (like Finland and Norway), even though I am not actively seeking sits. I SO miss the email alerts with the summary sits in them. Since it’s switched to links (which are really clunky to use as if you backspace, you don’t end up back at the link), I’ve barely looked at THS. Anyone else?
Why have THS have done this? What is the purpose? Is there a workaround for people who don’t want to click though a bunch of links but see everything in one place? We need life to get easier, not harder these days!
I suspect that the real reason is that THS is saving some money by not sending out so many images of listings.
Yes, yet another deterioration for sitters.
I have switched off those emails, they are utterly useless now. Instead, I do my Saved searches from the web interface. Yes, clunkier, one needs to change the sorting order to get the newest ones first, every time! The workaround there is to keep that tab open.
@zoemac would consider using the app notifications for the saved searches, I’ve found it very reliable to the point of seeing popular sits before they go to reviewing more than I did before.
I haven’t had any success with the app’s saved searches - nothing comes through (yes, notifications are on).
I also enjoyed having a quick browse of the email content of a few destinations, rather than going into individual sits.
I wish THS gave their customers the option of a change before they role it out. Or were transparent with why they’ve really done this. It’s not for our benefit, clearly.
