Im a new ‘kid’ on the block here, trying to find my way around this website, and am a bit lost at this time. My beloved dog of 13 years died earlier this month, and somebody suggested housesitting as I am not in a position to get another dog. Housesitting would give me the opportunity to connect with other dogs and cats/animals in general. I am so looking forward to my first sitting expereince - it will be fun
@Mimmac2022 On behalf of the forum team, a warm welcome to the TrustedHousesitter’s community! I am so sorry for the recent loss of your beloved dog of 13 years. Our pets are our children, and they mean so much to us. Pet sitting with TrustedHouseSitters is a great way to surround yourself with unconditional doggie love. I am so excited you are here and I can’t wait to hear all about your first sit.
The best way to find your way around the forum is to use the magnifying glass to search key words of topics that are of interest to you. This will lead you to posts that you can review.
The main website also has some great tools for information. You’ll find a help tab on the main toolbar there, and the blog (at the bottom of the main page) now also has a similar search bar to find blog posts relevant to you.
If you don’t find what you’re looking for, add a post to the forum and members will do their best to help.
It’s also a great idea to share a link to your sitters profile in your forum profile. Here is a helpful link with instructions link to your listing on your forum profile But the main website is where ALL our members will see your sitters profile and be able to message with you.
If at any time you need any help don’t hesitate to reach out to our community here which is full of helpful members who have been through the process themselves and will happily give advice and guidance. And don’t forget our membership support team are always on hand to give assistance.

Oh Julie, that is a lovely welcome. Thanks so much for your tips and I shall eneavour to make myself become familiar with your suggestions. I am wondering, as I work part time, whether that will stand in my way as most sitters do require somebody to be with their pet during the day? Most days I finish work at 5:15, and have early morning starts. Weekends and evenings are always free and thats when I would be available. Anyway, no rush, I shall keep browsing. Thanks Julie for your feedback.
A great way to start your TrustedHouseSitters experience would be to do some local house sits. Many home owners need house sits just for the weekend, so that would be perfect for you since you have weekends off.
Excellent idea … And I am keeping my eye out for those. Thank you x

Of course! Have a wonderful time exploring our trusted community, and best of luck on your first sit
