Notifications from searches created on the website?the web

Is it just us?
Are we right in thinking that ONLY searches created in the Mobile App will send notifications to our mobile?

For clarity, this relates to notifications messages, not emails which we get for searches created on the web

You’re absolutely correct in your thinking @TomandJacq!

I’m tagging @Therese-Moderator, @Carla-Moderator and @geoff.hom who are better equipped than I to answer tech related questions. The next time one of them is online they can help get you an answer to this.

Hasn’t @temba already answered the question? :flushed:

It’s certainly possible it’s also more than possible that one of our team members I tagged above who are trained and informed on these questions can best inform @TomandJacq and all members of our community that are coming here with the same question.

Hi @TomandJacq, @Smiley, @temba, @Kelly-Moderator, @Carla-Moderator. (where’s tag-all?)

Yes, @temba is right. Perhaps Kelly was hoping someone would have a reference we can link to, just because it’s so easy to get our wires crossed. At least, that’s how I’d feel.

I searched the TH Help site for “saved search.” You can see the results here: https://support.trustedhousesitters.com/hc/en-gb/search?utf8=✓&query=saved+search.

Among the top results, I think this one is most helpful:

  • Website:

    • …
    • You can then name your search and receive an email alert when matching listings are added.

    App:

    • …
    • You can then name your search and receive a push notification for new sits that match your criteria

That said, it took me a while to find that info. I definitely wish it were more intuitive to find that official info, but I’ll have to think how I would do that. Like if a question should be added to the Help, or the info added to another question, or something else.

Thanks for chiming in, everyone!

I’m thinking you should be on the payroll @geoff.hom as you provide so much assistance. Thank you for backing me up.

@temba In one of my previous jobs we had a customer/client advisory group to get input from a customer perspective. Now wouldn’t that be a great idea… @geoff.hom would be a great representative on that.

Well done @temba and @geoff.hom for so quickly answering another members question. I’m sure the forum team are grateful that there are well informed members like you to answer questions and point people in the right direction if they are not available, even if you are not trained!

Hi @Debbie thank you for your kind and appreciative words … @geoff.hom is a valuable Forum gem which we all want to have a little bit more of, Admins and community alike.

There are so many helpful and supportive members on the forum which really does make our job just that little bit easier … :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Many thanks all. Since the 5 application limit has been introduced, it’s imperative that we get advised of new sits ASAP.
No time to wait for the email server to do its “thing”, the good sits will have been snapped up.
