Repeat sit

Hello, yesterday’s I have been contacted by a HO for a repeat sit. The contact was by private message. Normally she would have posted it on THS, and she would have sent me a message that her posting is on-line. As I have subscribed to the THS insurance we want this sit to go thru THS, as well as for reviews etc. So how do we proceed without all the hassle of the sit being paused. But still can have the benefits of THS?

She can send you a private invite.

The HO needs to post it online and confirm you immediately as sitters, then you confirm the sit.

Hi @Lieve … as @Els advises your owner can send you a private invite (using the private dates option). Here are the instructions from the Help Desk on the website which you can pass on to your owners.

Hi, We’ve just joined THS this year and have been very fortunate to be asked back for 2 repeat sits. My question is, if we accept without the sit first being advertised on THS do we still receive the benefits of our membership. One of the sits is in France so the cover we receive for any cancellation would of course be very important to us. Any advice would be gratefully received.

You need to confirm the sit on THS. The HO can list the sit, quickly invite you and you accept + confirm.

Hello @RosieSue you will need to make sure that the HO send you an invite to sit which you can then confirm or this can also be done as @Timmy suggests and this should be done for any sit that you agree to. This will then show on your dashboard as a confirmed upcoming sit and you will then be covered by THS terms and conditions should any problems arise.
Also very importantly once a sit is complete they will be able to write you a review and you will be able to complete feedback for them.
Happy housesitting :slightly_smiling_face:

Thanks Timmy, I thought that was the best way of doing it. Thank you for confirming it

@RosieSue There is a way that the homeowner can set the sit with “Private Dates” and then invite you. As I understand it, this means that the sit will only be visible to you, so other sitters won’t be able to apply. I’m a sitter though, so I don’t know how it works at the homeowners end, but I have been invited to sit by this method.

Thanks Debbie, that’s interesting. I will mention it to the HO
