Responsibilities glitch on App

I have just discovered a new and annoying glitch on the App. I applied for a sit where the Responsibilities section appeared empty- see pic. I told the HO and they replied with a friendly message answering some of my Qs, & saying they’d added more pics and completed all the listing and the WG. However the Responsibility section (on the App) remains empty. I told her that, asked a few more questions and also explained the WG can only be shared after the sit is confirmed. Now Radio silence.

Yesterday someone on the forum mentioned there are new categories for ‘pet care’ and ‘home tasks’. So I accessed the website on my phone and found the Responsibilities section for the listing in question with those categories all filled out! I only use the App and they do not appear on there. If I had not read that comment (which I can no longer find) I would be none the wiser.

This is an important glitch, resulting in significant information being missing on the App. It made me look very unprofessional- the HO must have been irritated to feel I was challenging her. I later sent a message to her explaining this discovery but it may be too late. She has not responded further. So because of this important glitch we may well miss out on this sit.

@Mark_B please could you pass this feedback. The App needs to be fully functional and matching the website info ASAP. Thanks

@Lokstar that explains why I’ve seen 2 listings with no responsibilities in them. I escalated them to THS support. Now I look like the stupid one because I only use the app.

@Mark_B please explain this embarrassing debacle and how & when THS intends to rectify it

Yep. The Responsibilities section on the app is currently frozen and cannot be changed by a host. Editing the listing on either the app or the website edits the same material in the new Pet Responsibilities and Home Tasks sections but only the web version currently displays that material. The app version only displays the single Responsibilities section that existed 2 days ago. It took me an hour to figure out what was where. It’s all very confusing at the same time THS went radio silent on this “minor” change.

In @Lokstar’s example, the host did not have anything in the single Responsibilities section 2 days ago before it was it was encased in carbonite à la Hans Solo 2. Since then, the host has edited their listing adding stuff to Pet Responsibilities and Home Tasks that can not be seen using the app. Trying to explain this to new hosts is probably counterproductive; they’re likely going to think you’re a few fries short of a happy meal.

So which one should we be using, the app or the web version? :person_shrugging: I’ve always only used the app now that seems to be wrong. Glad we are now paying extra for these discrepancies, what a debacle!

@OnTheRoadAgain Yes exactly. Explaining probably won’t help now but NOT explaining makes me look worse! :woozy_face: At least I’ve put the responsibility back where it lies!

And until the glitch is corrected we’ll all have to cross reference with the website- which I find inconvenient when only using a phone..

I’ve just noticed another glitch in responsibilities in a listing between app and website. The app mentions one dog that has obviously passed and no mention of the newer dog. I was just about to query it with the owner BUT decided I’d better check the website to see about the other vital pet information not on the app and there was the updated info on the newer dog!

On a different issue, not a glitch just a discrepancy between app and web version.

The app and the web version are setup differently for receiving saved search/alert notifications. So if you have set up just to use the website, you will only receive email alerts not push notifications as push notifications aren’t an option. If you chose just to use the app you will receive both, if you choose both. I can see that using push is definitely the way to go to receive notifications quicker. Basically you have to have the app push notifications activated to get push notifications on the website version otherwise you will only receive email notifications. I would not have known this had I not just searched for it. :face_with_spiral_eyes:

Yes, this one is a pain in the …..
I always set up my searched on desktop and then I need to remember to go to the app to additionaly change the settings to push notifications.

Also another big difference that is a serious issue:
You won’t see missing review on desktop. And these can be a sign of a difficult sit in a lot of cases, as people prefer to skip reviews not to start fights…
As a sitter I have previously confirmed a sit with several missing reviews. But well on desktop all seemes fine, I didn’t see them…

I saw one like that too @Temba with an obviously deceased pet still with a profile photo & no photo of the new pet which was talked about in the responsibilities. What an absolute unprofessional debacle THS have caused with this change. Plus their radio silence is deafening!
