Argh……I’m admittedly tech-challenged but I don’t think that it applies here :
In searching for sits, I’ll enter the desired state (only looking in US for this particular period of time).
Often, I’ll get nothing.
OK, let’s try preferred cities within that state.
Nothing.
OK, lets’ try, say a county within that state, and find one or two possibilities.
Later that day, I’ll re-enter the state and ,Violá, multiple listings (not new and varied in terms of dates, locations, etc. so the listings have been up for days, weeks…..)
Why is this search function so lacking, unreliable, inconsietent and frustrating !?!
I do this on a laptop as I don’t have a cell.
What am I missing here ?

Do you have any filters on - such as cats only or “no pets” ?

Anyway, sorry! re your question, would it be worth seeing if you can put a longer time period for your requested dates? Just to see what’s out there? I would def reload the page, as well - it does sound a bit glitch-y.

@toreishi, we find the THS Saved Search function to be fabulous. Encourage that you persevere.
Given breadth of your search area then suspect that another search filter is active and limiting results.
Suggest close down website page, then open fresh. Select Find a Sit and only enter [state]. A dropdown list will appear … select [state]. This should list results. If not, try shutdown and restart laptop and try again.
After some results appear then you can add additional search filters and Save Search, as appropriate, for future reference.

There are some notable performance differences between the THS website and the THS app. Maybe a sitter can run the same queries on the THS website and the THS app to shed some light on where or why you’re being stymied.

Only “ sort by” (“start date”).
Have you tried the map feature?
I’ve never experienced any problems when searching, other than the site doesn’t recognise UK counties that well, so searching via towns/cites is easiest, and they always show up. So it may just be you, so perhaps it’s worth you contacting the support team for some help.
I’m sorry you’ve run into these problems! Personally, I haven’t experienced anything like this. A couple more troubleshooting tips to try:
- Try a different browser
- After entering a state/city/county, try zooming in or out a little on the map – this will effectively refresh/reset the search results
