Searching by dates

Hi - I’m a new sitter with THS. I have weeks/weeks within months that I’d like to pet sit. Is there a way to search what sits are available by dates? Many thanks

Hello @Irene62 & welcome. Yes there is a date and location filter so you can set the city or country (or use the map) you want to sit in, and then filter by dates and pets etc. You can then save those searches (no depends on membership level I believe), hope that helps. The filter is in the top RHC of the app as three wiggly lines. #filterfunderfun

Good advice from @Cuttlefish .

I have for instance made a search for a week in «country» and «dates» in september, and another search for «country» in July 2025. Both searches push new listings / dates from time to time (but not the perfect sit yet  ).

Is it just my browser, or do other people find it impossible to search for more than eight weeks at a time? I would LOVE to be able to search ALL sits in 2026, for example, so I can start planning for next year. But the calendar feature FORCES me to highlight dates - it won’t let me type them in - and it will NOT let me select more than two months’ worth of dates. So I can do January and February, but then I have to try February and March, and if there was a sit that started the last day of January and then goes into April, I can’t see it. If I just search for all sits and order by start date, it won’t let me do a “reverse sort”, so that the farthest out start date is first. Which means I have to page and page and page and PAGE until I get to the 2026 searches.

I tried searching the online help and the forum and tried the (not helpful) online chat to no avail. Can anyone tell me how to EASILY search for all sits for particular sits in 2026 or for a time period longer than two months?

Are you seeing something like this? If so, I just use the dates filter and toggle on the arrow to forward the months. it lets me go into 2026, as shown for example.

I see something similar, but when I move forward it wipes out the previous month that I had already highlighted. I can only select the two months that you see on the screen, but if I try to “swipe” to select the next month on the screen, it deselects what I already selected. It is driving me crazy! I wish I could just type in “2026” or “1/1/2026-31/12/2026”

That’s odd. You might want to try on another device, because that functionality is standard. Maybe try deleting and reloading the app. Or if you’re on X browser, try another.

Browser switch did the trick. It works in Chrome but not in Safari. Thank you @Maggie8K !

You might also want to see whether you have the latest version of Safari (for other uses, not just THS). I’m using Safari by default on an iPad and it’s working fine for the dates search feature.
