We’re 66 so don’t do a lot of AI reverse image new age techie stuff so personally I wouldn’t see a composite review photo as a yellow/red flag especially if it was noted in the profile. Life can become over complicated if we’re seeing flags waving from every corner. As part of an overall good impression I think it’d be useful especially if you’re worked very hard to get 6 reviews and say 4 disappear!

As most people would have no idea how to fake a screenshot myself included I think you’re maybe overthinking this. It’s a simple low tech ‘getaround’; it doesn’t go against UK data protection as it reveals very little just a 1st name and blurry image but some nice words. UNLESS THS tells me to definitely NOT do this I now see it as an insurance policy to keep screenshots.

@KittySitter You seem to have taken this thread totally off track- far from its original attention simply to alert others of a useful way to their protect their reviews!! ![]()

Back to Lokstar’s point for the thread: You can’t count on your data / reviews to be retained by THS or other platforms, so if you want them saved, do it yourself.
GDPR for the European Union is the most comprehensive data protection law for consumers and it’s created ripple effects. It specifies that companies must keep data only for the shortest time possible and many have switched to a two-year practice for pragmatics.
If a consumer requests data removal, the company must do it even more quickly. The potential fines for not abiding are up to 20 million euros (or 4% of a company’s annual GLOBAL revenue). There’s no reason any company with common sense would risk such penalties.
I suppose you’re right. I’ve always felt the value of this forum is helping other members see perspectives they might not have been aware of. I was trying to assist @BonnyinBrighton and others from making a mistake that would cause a homeowner to lose trust in them. I’ll delete my posts and start a different thread.
Well I suppose I’ve learnt that screenshots can be faked which was certainly news to me ![]()

Excellent post, @lokstar. I’ve started saving my reviews too thanks to this; my favorite is below!
And why I have a webpage with info about me, sits, reviews and link to my profile on THS. People find me there, THS, referrals. Also an email list. So depending on how you want to be on THS and share…..lots of options and THS is not the only way. I need to add some more reviews all hosts are good with it and some actually ask me to post their review. And no I don’t get paid - all goes thru THS so we are all protected, vetted etc. And how to YT videos have done well too.
