And I am not even sure i can blame this one on THS! Help please?!
Broke old phone, transferred everything to new phone including all apps etc. Didn’t even have to re log in to THS app. Noticed i am not getting notifications, checked all settings in app, all good. Went to phone settings to turn on app notifications-THS isn’t in app list. Weird. Delete app, turn off phone, reinstall THS app, don’t have to log in again. Still no notifications (I know because I am checking my saved searches) and THS app still not in my app list. Log out, try again. When I really download app, I am still logged in and THS still not in my apps list!!!
I modified your text quoted above by adding “Android” ahead of the first sentence’s “phone” and dropped the result into ChatGPT. ChatGPT returned a very long and detailed response explaining the known problem and how to fix it. Too long to share here. The problem and fix are deep in the tall weeds of the Android world and well beyond my comprehension, maybe even beyond my ability to follow the fix.
The end of that response invited me to:
“If you want, tell me:
Phone brand (Samsung, Pixel, etc.)
Android version
Transfer method (Smart Switch vs Google restore)
I can tailor the fix precisely to your device — some manufacturers (Samsung especially) add one extra hidden step.”
Well you might have solved my problem at least. Had not been getting notifications, ticked all the boxes in THS. Reading this thread thought to check out my settings and yeah notifications for THS off! Who knew? Not me! Fingers crossed it now works. Thanks so much.
So I didn’t end up using it because my 12yr old fixed it. Ironic as he doesn’t even have a smartphone!
The problem was that my app permissions are located in 2 different places on my new phone, and THS for whatever reason is only on one of them. Once we located the 2nd list just had to turn notifications on there.
This is one of the many reasons I hate getting a new phone!
