Any advice

Has anyone advice on my add. Im going on 3 weeks and only had 2 applicants. Unfortunately i had to change my add to female’s only due to my rescue dogs bad experience with men so i had to decline the first lovely couple. And the second applicant has ghosted me. (Ihope shes ok though)
Ive reached out to many of the applicants who saved my add with no luck. Should i reach put to those in England but i would’ve be here to drop them back to the airport.
Im getting anxious now, and i cant put my old dog in kennels.
Any suggestions? Thanks so much for any advice or help

You’ll need to put a link into your Forum profile it’s your THS profile that’s needed and that way we can see your listing. Use the search tab to find out how to do this as quite a few threads on this.

Hi there, you might want to check out this blog I inspired for THS about mistakes to avoid when creating a listing.

Hope that helps!

Hello
Sorry you are having trouble finding a sitter, but you are not alone in that. Without seeing your listing, it would be hard to know if there is anything particularly problematic about it–cluttered space, no photos of where the sitter would be sleeping, things like that.

But in most cases, the main issue is that at any given time, there are more sits available than sitters currently seeking one.

A vast majority only sit part time, and even with such a large membership, the chances of large numbers of people wanting or needing to be in that exact spot at those exact dates is pretty small, unless the sit is in vacation-like spot, like a Thai island, very popular cities like New York, etc… And needing to exclude men–whether a single traveler or part of a couple–because of your dog’s needs will add to the challenge.

I also look at other people’s profiles occasionally out of curiosity and many times, I will notice the latest reviews are from quite awhile back, sometimes a couple of years or more, which suggests that while their membership is obviously current since they are showing up in the search, they are probably not actively seeking sits. So while the membership is very large on the sitter side, the actual number of active sitters is probably much smaller.

As for people who have ‘favorited’ your current listing, they almost always do so because they are not available for the current dates but would like to be notified if you post again in the future. So contacting them will probably not bear much fruit.

As for the airport issue, it isn’t exactly clear what the problem is. Are you arriving back by air and don’t want to go home and then have to drive right back to the airport? Is there no other way for them to get there on their own? While it is a nice gesture to offer rides to and from the airport, if it really isn’t possible that is okay since ultimately the sitter is responsible for their transportation. But if it is absolutely necessary the homeowner provide a ride, perhaps there is someone else that could help you out with bringing them back.

Highly suggest you attach your listing to this post as it’s very difficult to give feedback without that. Many forum members here waiting to offer suggestions/support.
