Available to house and pet in Connecticut

Hello, my name is Diane and I am brand new to the forum. I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce myself. I have been working with Rover sitting for pets for the last year. I would like to take my experience to the next level. I’m so happy that I found this site. It is exactly what I am looking for. I’ve also worked for the Connecticut Humane Society for 8 months. I am able to Pet/house sit in Connecticut, Massachusetts or Rhode Island.

Hello @Dianemarie and welcome!
Sounds like you came to the right place when it comes to caring for pets!

May I ask:

How you heard about THS?

And since you mention Rover, are you aware that THS is not a paid exchange?

And, are you also a member of THS in addition to the forum?

Thanks for taking the time.

What do you mean by taking it “to the next level”? I would have thought THS was similar to Rover except for the fact that the sitters get paid whereas we don’t with THS

Hello and thank you for the welcome and the quick response. I am aware that THS is not a paid gig. Not a problem at all. I knew this going in n

Hi Smiley, Roger that. I am aware that THS is not a paid gig.

Perhaps I misspoke. Apologies. Not next level. Sorry bout that

Hello and welcome- it’s hard being a newbie and joining a new community! I did this 2 mths ago now, did you know you can add a link to your THS profile into your Forum profile, search :mag: in the box for a thread on how to do this… also search for lots of helpful threads. When I joined I read hundreds of threads, also read lots of sitter and HP reviews to become familiar with what was prioritised by this community. We all want 5* reviews so it helps to become aware of how to optimise your chances.
My understanding of your ‘take it to the next level’ was possibly you’re planning to do it full time maybe? Lots of people here can help/advise with this (not me as I’m retired and do it occasionally for fun).
Good luck exploring the Forum…. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Thank you for responding. Yes it would seem that I just announced what a newbie I am so thank you for being gentle lol. I still don’t know what I meant. Maybe the word international threw me and Rover is local. I don’t freaking know. Maybe because the stays can last a month or more. Still don’t know. I will definitely familiarize myself with the forum. I like it here and yes I will set up my profile. Thank you again! Diane

Right On and thank you
Any more good info?

Welcome Diane

I started here just over a year ago and had a great time.

My advice is ask plenty of questions of the home owners and only accept if you are comfortable with everything. Also bring loo rolls

Thank you so much. I’m thrilled to be here. What an awesome business model. I worked for Connecticut Humane Society. I can’t wait for my first stay.
