Hi there! We’re new here… my bro Ziggy and me love exploring the woods, hills and ancient villages of the picturesque Cotswolds where we live.
Our pet parents, Sarah and Jamie, are leaving us behind to go on holiday (how dare they?!) so we need someone kind
to feed us treats, take us out for whippet walks and snuggle with us in our big townhouse by the river Avon.
It’s in the ancient town of Malmesbury, which is near Cirencester, Bath and Stroud - you might even spot Liam Gallagher or Henry Cavill walking their dogs too!
We have two cat friends who also live here, they’re friendly but pretty low-key and just want food and cuddles!!
Sounds lovely! Have you guys posted your first set of dates yet? Can’t see anything anywhere near Malmesbury on the THS map? @SarahJane#livelistinglocator
Aaahhh. You’re so sweet, thanks! We know Cirencester well @SarahJane but unfortunately don’t sit in the UK right now so can’t help for this one. We sat a saluki in Holland that was great fun Will make you a favourite in case it fits in with a work trip back to Blighty though. Happy you already have applicants . #sharethelove
I took a look at your listing for you, and it sounds lovely - it’s great that you’ve had some applicants! There are a few things I can suggest to increase applicants though - here are some tips:
1: Change your cover photo from your living room to the one of the swan on the lake, or your whippets. A cover photo of your living room won’t do as much to attract applicants; remember that your cover photo & title are the only thing a sitter sees in your listing’s preview before they click it, so make it a good one!
2: Your responsibilities section is a little hard to follow and can be written more succinctly, with clear, simple dot points to outline tasks rather than a long wall of somewhat repetitive text. You have also mixed up descriptions of the local area in this section with the responsibilities, so make sure you keep this section to responsibilities only for maximum comprehension. Definitely mention the use of the car in the home & location section, not the responsibilities - this is a key piece of info that helps a sitter’s mobility, and this info is buried in descriptions of the dogs. Remember that the responsibilities section exists to:
List the home & pet-care tasks
Give basic details about the pets (behaviours & routine).
Ensure sure you mention how long the pets can be left for. Besides these tips, it sounds like a lovely sit and I hope you find a sitter soon. Hope that helps!
@SarahJane we live not too far away in Cheltenham. Malmesbury is a lovely little town. Your have some gorgeous photos of your whippets, and your description of the wildlife on your mill estate sounds just wonderful. We do sometimes do local sits so we have saved your listing as a favourite. Unfortunately your current dates don’t fit as I work in a school.
I agree with this, (if the waterway is very close to your home) and change your title to something like: ‘Cotswold Water Meadows with Whippets and Cats.’
Your pic and title has got to catch the attention of sitters and be clear. Some sitters will sit only for dogs, some only for cats, some for both, so ensure you make it immediately transparent what’s involved, and where.
