What are you watching?

I wasn’t sure from the description but it’s hard to get a sense of it as it’s unusual… also it’s complex so we’re going to watch Ep 1 again as we think we missed something….

I’ve done that with Slow Horses for a few episodes. ( can’t wait for the new season!)

Glad the new show is complex to be honest, as so many shows lately seem to be made just to be lightweight ‘background filler’ while viewers are on their phone.

The Secret life of pets This is new to me and I’m loving it! Fun and easy watching after a hard day with the pets!

I’m currently watching Your Friends & Neighbours Season 2 on Apple TV.

In season two, Andrew “Coop” Cooper played by Jon Hamm doubles down on his life as an unlikely suburban thief, until the arrival of a new neighbour threatens to expose his secrets and place his family at risk.

I’m currently watching Widow’s Bay on Apple TV and loving it so far!

Widow’s Bay is a quaint island town 40 miles off the coast of New England. However, something lurks beneath the surface. Mayor Tom Loftis, played by Matthew Rhys, is desperate to revive his struggling community. There’s no Wi-Fi, a spotty cellular reception and then he must contend with superstitious locals who believe their island is cursed.

I saw Project Hail Mary at the cinema this week. There’s nearly 3 hours of my life I’ll never get back! Started out ok but such a weird ending.

We started watching it too! Just finished Episode 2. Everyone is so well cast, Matthew Rhys is great and we are huge fans of Stephen Root who plays Wick. It is so funny…and suspenseful!

I just finished the Call the Midwife Season 15 finale and tears were shed. It felt like a series finale so I did some digging. They will be making a feature film (set in 1972) and a prequel series (set during WW2). Season 16 of Call the Midwife with be the last one and is expected to air in 2027 or 2028.
I have such warm feelings about this show because both of my parents were still alive when it started and we would gather on Sunday evenings with tea and cookies to watch it. Three cookies each but Dad always tried to talk us into letting him have some of our share. Mom died in 2014 and Dad in 2020. When the last episode airs, I will need an entire box of tissues.

We’ve cancelled anything American (Netflix, Apple, etc…I’m a boycotting Canadian) so tend to watch a lot of BBC shows; Amandaland is our current favourite. If you haven’t seen Peep Show, you should check it out; it’s the funniest series we’ve ever watched and go back to it again and again.

@Rhonda Have definitely seen Peep Show! I highly recommend The IT Crowd. We re-watch episodes so many times! :joy:

Don’t believe I’ve heard of that; must find it. Thank you!

You’re welcome! Let me know what you think. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

I have been watching Salisbury Poisonings: The Untold Story on Channel 4 in the UK.

The programme shares the gripping first-hand testimony of the shocking story of the 2018 poisoning of an ex-Russian spy in Salisbury.

Last night I watched SEMI FINAL 2 of Eurovision song contest having watched SEMI FINAL 1 on Tuesday. I know it is fashionable to knock it, and the voting nowadays is of course purely political.

I was disappointed in the standard of songs this year, emphasis seems to have shifted from song contest to presentation/choreography, and even that was a bit risque, with all the scantily clad girls writhing about, and I am no prude.

My favourite entry was Luxembourg, an actual song, no gimmicks. Unfortunately that entry failed to make it through to final. BOY GEORGE from UK featured in San Marino entry, that never reached the final. No loss.

My money now is on Australia’s entry with DELTA GOODRUM. Of course Australia only take part by invitation as they are big supporters of this, but outwith European Broadcasting Area, so they can WIN but cannot host next year.

Israel’s song is actually one of the better ones.

I will have my Vodka and nibbles tomorrow, and devote my evening to watching it for 3-4 hours.

That’s very good.

I agree, very childish. Might be okay for family viewing, but not for me.

I’m rewatching Luther at the moment, and enjoying it just as much as the first time!

We binge watched Legends 6 episodes Netflix 10/10.

I recently watched Say Nothing, about the Troubles in Norther Ireland. It was extremely well told and the recreation of the 70s and 80s was terrific.

We are really enjoying Legends as well. 3 episodes last night and round 2 tonight! Did you watch Slow Horses?
